Description

1. Poomsae-TaekwondoData was developed over twenty years ago to provide access to background information. The earliest entries refer to medalists from 1982. Poomsae-TaekwondoData is thus a chronicle of the sport of poomsae.
2. To enable outsiders—and especially media representatives—to quickly understand and get an overview of the athletes’ performances, a ranking system and statistics on athletic achievements were developed.
3. The ranking in Poomsae-TaekwondoData is a career ranking. This means that all ranking points earned throughout an athlete’s career are added together.
4. The list of ranking points awarded for the respective tournaments can be found here: Ranking Points
5. The results lists for many tournaments are sometimes compiled very creatively for the Pair and Team categories. In some cases, only the country is listed (no names); sometimes only a surname or only first names are provided.
6. For major tournaments—whether world-level or continental—the missing names were entered into Poomsae-TaekwondoData as “no name,” with the country added.
